「を指令する」の訳し方

特許明細書でよく使われる「～を指令する」「～を指示する」はどう訳すでしょうか。

動詞のcommandやinstructは指令や指示を受ける相手を目的語にとるため、相手が分かっていて指令や指示がその後名詞として記載されていない場合は“command 相手 to 動詞”や“instruct 相手 to 動詞”のように訳せますが、相手が分からない場合や指令や指示がその後名詞として記載されている場合、私は”issue a command to 動詞”、”issue an instruction to 動詞”のように訳しています。

 

「スイープ動作の開始時、スイープ動作中及びスイープ動作終了時の少なくともいずれかにおけるセンサ３により検出されたデータの取得を指令するブロック」（特許第7011106号）

“a block that issues a command to acquire data detected by the sensor 3 at the time of at least one of start, middle, and end of sweep operation”

 

「駆動論理回路１２は、・・・するとともに、論理レベル切替回路１４に論理レベルの切替えを指令する」（特開2021-191195）

“The drive logic circuit 12 … and issues the logic level change circuit 14 a command to change the logic level.”

 

「スリップ路面回避計画作成部１０６は、… 他の車両１に対して、スリップ路面回避を指令することを計画する機能を有する」（特開2021-190248）

「前記認識装置は、前記撮像装置の前記撮像領域の角度及び範囲の制御を指示する撮像制御手段を備え」（特許第6980887号）

「パラメータ選択部２４は、… 推論部２７に第１のパラメータの推論を指示する」（特許第6980151号）

なお、「指令する」が「指定する」の意味で使われている場合があります。その場合は”specifying”と訳しています。

 

「制御回路８は、入力クロックと、動作モード等を指令するデータを受け取り」（特開2021-190433）
